The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith as Catholics. But that doesn't mean that we always know what we're doing. This six-part series will break the many parts of mass down to explain what we do and why we do it.
Fr. Casey Cole / Franciscan friar / Catholic priest
“Let us not forget prayer,” Pope Francis has said, “because prayer helps us to keep faith alive.” To practice and teach our faith we must pray. Not just by ourselves. Not just for each other. But together. How life-changing it would be if every family was in the habit of praying together whenever they were together! Click the button and see some possibilities.
Our parish has a subscription to FORMED, an online platform filled with hundreds of movies, audio and video presentations, e-books, and even cartoon shows for young children. The Chosen is a multi-season streaming TV series about Jesus told through the lives of his friends. It's amazingly well-done, unbelievably down-to-earth, and surprisingly moving and entertaining at the same time. So far three seasons have been produced with Season 4 on its way. And it’s completely free. No subscription. No email required.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Beginning this day, Lord God, we praise and thank you for your gift of life, so that we can be a sign and instrument of your love and mercy. May what we say and do honor you by being of service to each other and to those you place in our lives. Watch over us as we go about our day. Protect us from all spiritual and physical harm and guide us safely home. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Bless us, O Lord, and these your gifts, which we are about to receive, from your bounty, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Having shared our meal together, we give you thanks, O Lord, for food in a world where many walk with hunger; for faith in a world where many walk with fear; for friends in a world where many walk alone. Amen.
Bless our rest this night, Lord God, so that we can awake to share your love and mercy tomorrow with each other and with those you place in our lives. We thank you for the blessings of this day and ask your help with the challenges we faced. Forgive us for choosing to do wrong and failing to do good. Comfort us in our worries and strengthen our hopes. Bring peace to all who suffered affliction, sadness, and injustice today. And may your blessing be with us forever. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
